About

Developers who understand business

We are not consultants who subcontract the build, nor an agency reselling someone else’s software. The team that sits down to understand your operation is the team that writes the code.

Why we started Asom

We both came from building software for companies in the region, and we were both seeing the same thing from the inside: a wave of AI projects sold by people who did not understand the client’s business. Immaculate decks, demos that worked in the meeting, and six months later nobody using them.

The pattern repeated for the same reason every time. The technology was not failing — the choice of where to apply it was. Nobody had done the boring work of understanding how the company runs before proposing a solution.

Asom is the reaction to that. The "no hype" part is not a marketing posture — it is literally what we correct every time we enter a project.

How we work

We talk to the people doing the work

Not only management. The person entering data every day knows where the real problem is, and they are almost never in the kickoff meeting.

We say no

When the return is not there, we say so. Sometimes the recommendation is to fix the process before automating it, and sometimes it is to do nothing yet.

We deliver in stages

With stage one designed to stand alone. If you stop there, you have something that works — not half a system.

We measure whether it got used

A system nobody uses does not count as delivered. We stay involved until it is part of the daily routine.

What we build with

We pick boring, proven tools for the foundation and save the new things for where they genuinely add.

Backend and data
Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker
Frontend
TypeScript, React, Next.js, Astro
AI and agents
Frontier language models, in-house orchestration, MCP
Infrastructure
Coolify, n8n, deployments on VPS or the client’s cloud

What we believe

  1. The technology is already available and cheap. What is scarce is the judgement to know where to apply it.
  2. 90% of a project’s value is decided before a line of code is written.
  3. A project you cannot measure is a project you cannot defend. If we do not know which number we want to move, we do not start.
  4. Honesty is a sales argument, not a luxury. Saying "this is not worth it for you" is what makes the rest credible.
  5. The data and the code belong to the client. Always.

Where we are

Carrasco Business Center
Costa Rica 1531
Montevideo, Uruguay

Our office is at Carrasco Business Center in Montevideo. If you are local, come and see us.

We work remotely with companies across LatAm. Most projects run fine at a distance, but initial discovery pays off far more if we can spend a day on site.

Apply this to your company

We can look at whether this makes sense for your operation — and if it doesn't, we'll tell you.
